Ben and I met through our gym, formerly known as Air Locker Training. In March 2024, air locker at the time through their first party at the end of their first six weeks; this party was in Mission Beach, San Diego, Diego.

Benny and I had gotten to the beach party at different times, he had been there a few hours before me. And I got there in the late afternoon. Funny enough, I noticed Ben immediately, but I was way too awkward and try to talk to him at that time. A few hours into the party, and admittedly, a few cocktails later, I finally worked up the courage/was forced to go and talk to Ben.

Of course, the only pick up line I could think of at the time was, can I get you a drink?.... well to my surprise, Ben didnt drink and of course declined the drink. Well my awkward self, apparently only had one pick up line because as soon as he responded that he didnt drink I felt so embarrassed that I completely turned around and left. About 5 to 10 minutes later, finally worked up the courage to go back over and talk to him, only to ask him the same exact question, can I get you a drink?, in which he respectfully replied, I still dont drink. I dont think I had ever been so embarrassed. So I left again.

Just when you think the story would end… Buzzed me decided to go over for a third time and what do you think I had asked Ben? Take a wild guess…can I get you a drink now?

For some odd reason, he didnt think I was a complete weirdo and asked for my number. We spent a lot of time together after that, went on a lot of dates. And the rest is absolute history.

I can, without a doubt that I met my best friend, my partner, my lover and my soulmate. I couldnt have asked for a better person to love me or my kids. I couldnt ask for a better husband or father incredibly blessed that I decided to ask him if he wanted a drink so many times!
